What We Do
The Parkinson Association of Alabama (PAA) is the only organization that represents all Parkinson’s patients in the state. The Board of Directors remains current on the latest legislative and research information in order to do the most good for the majority of persons affected by Parkinson’s disease regardless of their location in Alabama. PAA seeks to educate patients, caregivers, and the general public about Parkinson’s disease. By having an educated and informed community, Alabama will become more progressive in addressing Parkinson’s.
Local support groups are assisted by PAA through referrals, funding, organization, and education. PAA helps coordinate the efforts of local support groups as well as area affiliate members.
We operate a toll free line (877-977-7275) for communication with patients, caregivers, health care professionals, and the public.
PAA is proud to provide monetary support exclusively to promising and innovative research at several research facilities in Alabama. PAA believes that there is cutting edge research taking place in Alabama and PAA is committed to working toward a cure for Parkinson’s disease and finding better treatments for patients living with Parkinson’s disease.
